She's a cutie. This news was especially heart warming for me because as you may remember a few years ago my grandsons' pet, "Tinker", had a similar injury... and tragically was not able to recover even though she hung on for a few months. Tinker now lies peacefully under a large Chinese Elm tree in my yard.
My oldest daughter recently "adopted" two dogs, both puppies. A chocolate Lab and a Siberian Husky. A put quotes around 'adopted' because they were given to her by some people who, through Facebook, wanted to find homes for them.
The Lab, "Rocco" - a more happy-go-lucky dog never existed. Everyone is his best friend. Enough energy for a dozen dogs and a couple of spider monkeys tossed in. Breaking him of jumping on people is going to be a long, LONG, process.
The Husky, "Roxy" - has an attitude. No the friendliest of personalities except with family, of course, and whom she adores.
Both are currently staying at my youngest daughters home, (where we evacuated because of the flood alert)... and surprising they both are getting along well with my youngest Daughter's two dogs, "Cooper" and "Flyer". Roxy, even though a pup, wanted to be the boss but Flyer wasn't having it.... so Roxy took a couple of nips, the first day or so, but learned she's not going to rule the world as she had hoped. She's still trying to rule over Rocco and Cooper but she has now, grudgingly, accepted that Flyer is in command.
Just between you and me.... Roxy has a lot in common with my two daughters.
Best wishes and hopes for Gypsie! She's definitely in good and loving hands. - JamesJM
