And it seemed that most were willing to kill and die for the fur trade. Lol. And the Indians were exceptionally violent at times. I don't know much about the time period though.
It has always struck me as odd how much willingness to die the Civil War soldiers had. Even the kids wanted to, and sometimes did, go to war.
You don't see many duels today... Unless I am missing them. Although I still feel like we live in a pretty violent world. And I'm not fazed at bloodbath violence in movies anymore. It's become trite... IMO.
