And Mama... chip in here. Add your 'girlhood' crushes.
We've talked about this before. I think EVERYone, old enough that is, had a crush on Annette. I remember writing about a HUGE crush I had on a Dani Laval who starred in a little known Disney movie called "Moon Pilot". Wrote about several others as well.. back when we ran with that thread....
but today I read a post on a group I belong too... (ex-actors from my college days)... and Gail Davis was brought up. She played Annie Oakley.... I hadn't really forgotten about her BUT I hadn't thought of her in years. She may be my #1 TV crush. All time. Gail had something 'extra'... she was gorgeous, yes, but it was more than that... it was everything... her voice, the way she spoke, every single thing about her made her the 'perfect woman'. How big was my crush?
I realized, soon as I read about her, I'm STILL in love with her.... I swooned. I want to note here that I was SO taken with Gail that I don't remember today, and didn't take in THEN, the plots of any of her TV shows.... I simply sat mesmerized by her for the entire airing.
Gail passed away nearly 20 years ago, at the very young age of 71. I was reading her BIO on IMDB. To describe her they use the word "tomboy'ish"... yes, she was, and it was so sexy I can't begin to describe it. The BIO also mentioned a very interesting fact about "Annie Oakley"... she never killed a single person on that show. Now... and as I've noted, I wouldn't have known that... I was a slobbering fool in front of my TV not even really aware "Annie Oakley" was a western... but that's too bad... because that's VERY interesting to me. Realizing it now I think, "Well, she COULD have. That lady was a deadly shot" (in real life as well).
So, time for you to add your choices... and again, Mama... love to hear yours as well. I have a guess as to your choice, by the way.
Not saying #1 but I think on your list will be: <drum roll> - "Little Joe"... Michael Landon. - JamesJM
