looks like they're about the only UFL team thats really drawing any kind of a crowd
No, I haven't gone to a Battlehawks game in person. I haven't been in downtown St. Louis but once or twice since I retired in 2013.
Battlehawks fans are "the cream of the crop" among all UFL fans. They show up and they are rabidly into every home game.
Average Attendance Per Game
Arlington Renegades -------- 9,714
DC Defenders --------------- 12, 623
San Antonio Brahmas ----- 14,427
St Louis Battlehawks ------ 30,845
Birmingham Stallions ------ 9,627
Houston Roughnecks ------ 6, 869
Memphis Showboats ------- 4,563
Michigan Panthers ---------- 10,245
It's been this way ever since the XFL and UFL came to be. St Louis fans have shown up in far greater numbers than the fans for other teams. The UFL announced a couple of weeks ago that the UFL Championship this year would be in St. Louis. I'm sure they want to take advantage of the fans here who show up to watch their team... however, I think UFL ownership is going to be in for a rude awakening if the Battlehawks don't make the playoffs. Fans here aren't just hungry for ANY football. They're hungry to watch THEIR OWN team. I doubt seriously that they'll show up at the Dome to watch two other teams not named Battlehawks in the Championship game. I could be wrong.... but... we'll see. I just don't think that's gonna happen.
Frankly, I don't see how the UFL can survive with the paltry fan support and tv viewership they've gotten across the league so far. I think the UFL would be satisfied if they got at least 12-15,000 butts in seats at each game, and about at least 700,000 watching each game from home on tv. So far, the numbers show they're not doing so hot.
