I haven't been following this closely. I wrote it off as carbon monoxide poisoning and pretty much forgot about it. I've just been reminiscing about Gene's career... he was a fantastic actor.
Yeah, odd circumstances. Not sure not finding carbon monoxide is absolute proof that it wasn't but I'm certainly no forensic pathologist.
Won't repeat all the 'odd' circumstances but fentanyl poisoning, (no expert here either) would seem to be an explanation for all the oddities.
