Non-guitar player, here.. btw...
I know two my my favorite rock solos will probably come as a surprise to most people.. well, one of them probably won't be a surprise.. I'm gonna think about this more and I probably won't include a non- rock solo in this post cuz I need time to think about it..
One of my favorite solos is the second solo in Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.. A lot of people say Gilmour is overrated, but that solo was really done well, imo.. it's no technological masterpiece, but I think it's from the heart..
My second rock solo is No More Tears by Ozzy Osbourne.. I'm not the biggest Zakk Wylde fan, but I really like this solo.. when the song comes on radio and I'm driving, I always hafta be positioned just right so I can drum on the steering wheel while that solo is playing.. I guess I just hafta be part of the music, and believe me, i whack the steering wheel extremely hard on this one.. Again, no technological break-through here.. just a solo from the heart and the last scale walk ups at the end really get my blood moving..
Let me 5ry 5o 5hink of a non-rock solo.. it's like 6:30 am, so my brain is on a kickstand right now l ol
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
