Richard Chamberlain was king of the miniseries back in the day. My favorite miniseries he starred in was The Thornbirds. I've seen it many times and it's in my digital library. I tried watching the new Shogun but stopped after 5 episodes because I didn't like the storyline. That's probably why I never watched the original either, even though I adore Richard Chamberlain.
