That is, wake up and say something that made absolutely no sense.
When I was in college I had a roommate who was the night watchman, so he would come into our dorm room at around 3 am. He said I would often sit up in bed and say something REALLY weird. It was intelligible, but didn't make any sense. He said it got to be a game, he would try to come in and make just enough noise to get me to sit up and say something, but not enough to wake me into reality. I never remembered it the next morning.
I know he was telling the truth, because I was having a dream one night that I was painting my car, but I realized part way through spraying paint on it that I hadn't done ANY prep on it. Not only no sanding the old paint or wiping sanding dust off, I had not even washed the dirt off before spraying. I was just spraying paint over dirt and everything. And I thought, within my dream, I can't do this, I have to get this paint off before it dries and start over.
Now keep in mind, we are in York, Nebraska, in winter time and not only is it 3 am, it's minus 5 degrees outside, actual temp. And I woke up just enough to realize I had sat up in bed and heard myself say, "I have to go wash my car."
