She had a knee replacement last Tuesday... it went well! But she's on pain pills... I forget what kind, and even though she'll deny it to her dying breath those pills have her in la-la land.
My grandson and I were watching the Master Golf tournament yesterday when my wife woke suddenly asking me, "What did you say about Bob?". My grandson and I just looked at each other in confusion... we not only didn't say anything about Bob we don't even know a Bob. When we told my wife we were not talking about Bob she grew angry. "Yes you did, you were just talking about him. What did you say about him?". She was demanding an answer.
My grandson was quick thinking - "Oh, uh, well, Bob just made a birdie". We weren't aware of any "Bob" in the tournament BUT... that calmed my wife and she quickly fell back to sleep.
So that's just one example. There are many others.... all pretty much the same. Suddenly waking and blurting out comments that make no sense whatsoever. We're weaning her off those pills today. I don't trust those things one single bit. Necessary, I'm sure, if the pain is severe but I think a little 'wine' would be healthier. - JamesJM
