But yes, I have jumped from pretty high. More a "my macho was on the line" thing rather than something I wanted to do.

I'd say 40'..... seemed like it took me an hour and half to hit the water. laughing smiley

Probably my longest jump, actually it was a fall, was closer to 60's. I was hunting and crossing a wash that had a fallen tree across it. I took a couple steps on the tree and realized the tree was too rotted and wouldn't hold me so I leap back to the bank and grabbed a solid looking plant. It wasn't solid. It uprooted and backwards I went into the wash.

Now I say 60'... obviously I didn't measure it but there were cottonwood trees, full grown, at the bottom and I began my fall at least 20' over the top of the cottonwoods. Good fortune was smiling on me that day -

I hit a mud bog at the bottom and buried myself nearly up to my waist. Very gentle landing, no injuries at all. Very abrupt... but soft.
