We'd do SCBA Courses and Confined Space Training. We'd put masks over the SCBA face piece so you could not see. I'm hear to tell ya.....It's a bit of an uneasy feeling when you get stuck, even in a Training environment. Confined Space, we often did in the Summer time. It'd make you suck your bottle dry quicker. Part of the training was to be able to do a self bottle change. When it's dark, you suck that last breath and your face piece sucks to your nose??? I saw MANY long time Fire Dept Vets just about panic.
