Hooking up with British girls. That was actually a very sore spot with the English in WWII. Hence their analogy...... Over paid, over sexed and over here. I assume the Producers had to use one of the main Characters to get such a story in.
When I was in the USAF from 1986-90, I had a good friend who went TDY to England for about a year. Even in the 80s...He said you could sense resentment when US Airmen were in Pubs and meeting British girls.
