Have mentioned on here before I use to know a couple former German soldiers who served during WW 2 that had amazing stories to tell. Also had a Ukrainian friend who's mom I met who had been a sniper at the battle of Stalingrad. When I was a kid I met a couple who had been on the Titanic and my great uncle who died in 1980 a month before his 106th b-day use to tell the story about the time the James Gang spent the night in his families barn.

Sadly those that lived through some of the most historical events of the 20th century are almost all gone now but I feel very fortunate to have met some of them.
