When he received this award last year it took us completely by surprise. None of us, not even Ashton or his parents, had any idea he was going to receive the award that night. The media, (local), was there that night and all of us in the stands were wondering why - they rarely show up at our games and NEVER like this... TV cameras, some local sports reporters, a big speech before the presentation and our players listening and wondering "What the hell is going on. We have a game to play".

Then they explained what the award was for.... and then called out Ashton's name. We were in shock. As you can imagine.

Ashton is a good kid, excellent in fact... I'm currently teaching him how to curse properly while playing golf... hey, I have to contribute something! - JamesJM
