Love Rick Derringer..

Saw him open for Van Halen on their first tour.. Eruption was still new and everyone was freaking out about it., right before their last song, the stage clears and Derringer RIPS into a PERFECT rendition of Eruption.. right before Van Halen was to play.. then they launched into You Really Got Mem the cover and single by Van Halen..

I was backstage and patted Rick on the back as he walked offstage.. gutsiest, ballsiest thing I ever saw anyone do.. Derringer was fired from the tour, of course.. a couple of years ago I looked it up and there were a few small articles about it., I actually became Facebook friends with Derringer and brought that incident up.. he absolutely loved it lol
