Nope. The world needs more people like YOU, James. It was wonderful what you did. You took the time to help someone who needed it and figured out how to communicate together even though you didn't speak the same language. But you did more than that. You made him feel SEEN, HEARD, and UNDERSTOOD. You showed compassion and patience and treated him with dignity. Sorry to say, but not many people would have done what you did. Many would have looked at him and shrugged sending the message, "sorry, but I don't know what you're saying" and walked away. Not only did you take the time to figure it out, but gave me some assurance, stayed with him so he wouldn't feel so lost and alone, and bought him an ice cream which was the ultimate sweet (yes, pun intended) kindness. The impact you will have on that young man will be significant, you can believe that. He was beyond grateful and tried to tell you that in his hug. He''ll never forget your kindness.
