Bad officiating.... I shouldn't do this,

Sour grapes, I know.... but I well understand bad calls can be made, especially in youth football where the officials are basically volunteers. They do get paid... but it ain't much, and no where near enough to compensate for the grief they take from the fans.

So here I am complaining. But this was aggravating. This still photo was taken from one of 3 video angles we have of this play. 4th down... 1 yards to go... all videos confirm what this photo shows. 50 seconds on the clock and they are out of time outs... we get the 1st down and it's game over, we win.

I drew a line around my grandson so you can easily see his legs, body, helmet, arm, and the ball. The 50 yd line, quite visible, is the Line to Gain. They marked him down on our 49, or to make it more clear they marked him down where his feet are, actually behind his feet as the nose of the ball after they placed the ball was on the 49. Not shown in this still photo is where the ball was when his knee hit and he was down... it was inside THEIR 49, nearly the 48. And in case your thinking "he was down before this"... he was not, not even close.

This was a BAD spot... very, very, very, bad.. can't get much worse.

Spotted correctly we're playing for the Championship this coming Sat. As it is... basketball has started.
