I just finished watching the 5-season tv series first aired in 2009, "Southland". I have to say it is one of the best police dramas I've ever seen. Gritty, and realistic. And the acting was simply superb. I think I'm going to start watching NYPD Blue next. It came on in 1994 but I've never seen it. There are 12 seasons and the show won 20 Emmy Awards over the years so I figure it'll be worth my time.
We are also still watching The Good Wife, the Canadian crime drama "Motive", and we're still not done with The Big Bang Theory either. We have 2 more episodes to watch of Quarterback and will be finished with that. I liked it more than I thought I would. With so many NFL and NCAA football games to watch these days it's hard to squeeze in some of these other shows so we just do it as we can. There's no hurry.
We have almost finished with the British series, "Endeavor" which was the 9-season prequel to "Inspector Morse". I think this is the third British crime series we've watched and we're becoming addicted to them. We will probably continue on with another British police/crime series like Grantchester, Inspector Morse, Inspector Lewis, Vera, or Shetland. There are tons to choose from so I'm sure we'll find something.
I have finished all 3 seasons of The Chosen. I am absolutely in love with this series and the way they tell the story of Jesus and his disciples. It is so different from other movies, series, and specials. Interestingly enough, there are supposed to be 3 or 4 more seasons of The Chosen left to shoot before the entire story is told the way the creator wants. I don't know how they plan to do that using the same actors in their respective parts, especially when they're aging. Season 4 apparently is finished but they are releasing it first in movie theaters next spring, and then it will be available to stream online. I can't wait.
