There are really good baseball players at the MLB level who can play all star capabilities throughout the season-but when it comes to playoff time its a different game. More pressure-lots more-meaning you lose a series and season over-whereas during the season there is always the next series.
Some players excel under pressure-some fold. Has nothing to do with skill level.
Roberts may lose his job over the 4 HRs while leaving Lynn in but truth be told the rest of the team never put up a fight-for the 2d year in a row.!
Losing Buehler, May, Gonsolin, Arias, and yes Kershaw-will liely save Friedman's job-but there's something a foot here. I tried to reference the sun earlier but in all seriousness I genuienely believe playing in the soft living of So Cal really does have an effect on how a player responds to pressure.
The problem with my theory is that it can never be proven -and more importantly it will never change-meaning it's a hopeless topic to discuss.
