I look back and it almost pisses me off. Mom and Dad saw to it that I always saw a Dentist...had braces...Wisdom teeth removed....... But from the time it was up to ME to brush my teeth till about age 10, I was a PUTZ! I had no less than 3-4 cavities. What woke me up was when my Mom developed some sort of bacterial issue with her gums. They had to slit her gums, inside and out, top and bottom , to clean up around ALL of her roots. It saved her teeth. But when she got home, she spent that day with a swollen face and mouth packed full of bloody gauze. Sorta freaked me out. She grumbled through the gauze....."THIS is what happens when you continue to not take care of your teeth." She knew her issue was not because of that but it SURE as hell woke me up. That was 1977. I have brushed Religiously since!! BUT....Since then, I have had to get root canals and crowns on two of my filled teeth. The procedures are easy. But PAYING for them?????
