I may be coming home with a new pickup today.... I'm not happy about it. Why? Good question -
I love my old beat to hell Ford F-150. She and I went thru a lot together. I look at her dents, scratches, faded paint, broken parts, with love and affection. BUT... she's tired. She still tries but some of the tasks I'm asking of her are more than she can handle these days.. even though she gives it her best.
Soooo.... shopping for a new pickup. Been at it for a week now? Located one that fits my criteria yesterday... and today I'm headed to Fresno to say yes or no. I am, however, still reeling from sticker shock. Good Lord Almighty the cost of a new pickup these days. I considered a used one... found that that wasn't all that much cheaper PLUS... even though in Farm country finding a used one that matches what I want is tough.
So back to my old beat to hell Ford. I'm not selling it, not immediately that is. One of my grandson's is entering college this fall and he doesn't own a vehicle as yet, he's shopping as well... has the money just can't find what he wants SOOOOO... my Ford will be staying with the family for a while. making it just possible... I'm serious here - - -
That i'll be driving my old beat to hell Ford 150 and my grandson will be driving a brand new Dodge Ram.... why? Well, good question, but if you're asking yourself that you don't understand the bond us old timers have with our pickups.
