Me or my Brother NEVER had the Chaotic Parties that kids have these days. We MIGHT have 1-3 people over but it was almost always just the four of us and my Grandfather who lived right across the street. We'd get 4-5 gifts but we had to open them up through the day. Mom always knew what we'd like best and it was always opened right before Dinner. MOM made our cakes EVERY year. NEVER had a fancy store bought. I can actually remember just about EVERY Birthday back to AGE THREE!!!! Because of the simplicity. Mom made it simple and about US and NOT feeding and catering to 20 screaming kids. The older I get the MORE I appreciate it all. SOOOOOO glad I let my Mom know before she passed away in 2018.
