Ya gotta hand it to them when it comes to 'fashion'... and by that mean everything, not just clothes.
Cars were more beautiful. Planes were FAR more gorgeous, (not that today's aren't but that era is king).
I saw a YouTube video somewhat recently in which the topic was something like "Why were the Nazi's so fashionable?".... Now that's uncomfortable to deal with BUT... it's also true.
We've talked about this before, several times... but my favorite bomber of WWII is the B17. For fighters I like so many of them I can't name one a 'favorite'. The most 'romantic' plane ever built, IMHO, was the Yankee Clipper... only used for transport in WWII.
