This is an acoustic that Ben the Guitar Guy (Ben Liggett, the guy who built my Hula Girl guitar last year) has been working on. He actually started it well before I met him, he had pretty much finished the body while he was working on the Hula Girl guitar. Someone finally bought it and he is finishing it. Koa body, spruce top, multi scale neck. He designed it from the beginning to be suited for fingerstyle picking. I made him promise to let me come visit and see it when it's finished.
This is the neck he is making for it. Inlays are several varieties of shell, some abalone, some sea snail and the branches are koa wood.

This is the back. He used a little piece of this wood to make a back strap on the Hula girl guitar, it is STUNNING Koa. I don't know where he sources his wood, but he comes up with some amazing exotic woods. I think it's some kind of vudu magic.
