If your initial colonoscopy showed polyps and they were removed the chances of polyps reappearing are there. I assume you are under Medicare ? Docs don't want to fight the insurance over getting approval for another colonoscopy within the window unless you had polyps found and even removed the first time. That would justify an earlier colonoscopy. I've had three in the last 7 years. The last one was free of polyps so at my age I doubt I will be approved for any more (thank god). BTW: the standard of care -depending on age is every three years-not seven.
