waiting in line at the ticket box office.. first come, first served.. wait in line 3 days, you get front row, center section.. Now you hafta pay a gazillion times face value for the tickets.. They SAY it makes it convenient for YOU, but in reality, it fattens THEIR bottom line for basically doing NOTHING.. In both examples they sell the ticket once.. used to be for face value.. now for up to 20-30x as much..

Same with plane seats.. used to be you got their early, you got your choice of seats.. now you hafta pay for your choice of seats..
