Although Akers has been running strong for about a month now. Back to back 100 yards from scrimmage games—76 PFF grade for the season, the highest of his career (if you like PFF).
The offensive line is showing Depth, I think. I don't think any of these guys besides Shelton and Havenstein should be look/ed at as possible starters, but they look like reliable depth (Oday, Ty, etc.). If Jackson's blood clot issue is not long-term, I could see a line of Jackson, ?, Allen/?, Shelton, and Havenstein being good.
Baker feels like a win/win. He either plays well and gets us a comp pick or stays, or plays inconsistently, dries up his market, and we take him as a backup. Do we have money for an expensive backup is the question. Mainly because Matt Gay is a free agent, I believe, and he will probably be one of the higher-paid kickers on his next contract.
