LMU93
They need to infuse some new talent for sure. And I don't think they can count on Noteboom either. But I don't think it's a daunting task. I would suggest:
- inserting Jackson as the LT
- adding a LG in free agency or via trade
- sliding Shelton over to center
- pencil in Anchrum/Bruss/Brewer at RG and let them compete
- Havenstein at RT
Then draft the best available OL with one of their top two selections (could be a tackle, guard or center).
Whoever loses the RG competition, plus Draft pick TBD and Arcuri as their backups.
That’s one variation that would work for me, 93.
Technically, it would upgrade 3 positions with just one draft pick and one FA, probably very affordable.
LOT
LG
OC
All would be upgraded and this should be a pretty darn good OL for whoever is our QB.
My slight preference would be to get a stud LOT via FA and slide Jackson (a proven stud OG) over to LG while making your other suggested moves. But I don’t know if Snead can snag a stud LOT. He caught lightning in a bottle with Whit, but would anything close be both available and affordable? I dunno.
The larger point is that our mutual projections seem valid. Namely, that this OL could be very solid with 2 upgrade moves. Wholesale changes and panic are unnecessary.
