Mayfield is too inconsistent for that type of performance to be sustainable. What we saw Thursday night was a magical performance that I don't expect to see again. The only expectation I have for the rest of this season is for Mayfield to be an upgrade over Perkins and Wolford. That's it. The remaining weeks will still be an evaluation period as far as I'm concerned.

Lets enjoy the rest of this otherwise lost season and hope BM can continue like on Thursday. If he does another QB needy team will overpay and sign him to a big contract. Too big to match for the Rams. In that event we cash in a comp pick and move on.
If his play resembles more his previous career path we have a chance to sign him as the backup QB for a reasonable price tag.
Its a win -win for the Rams.
