Have to remember that Raiders probably weren't prepared to game plan against Baker.
People harp on that Baker arrived 48 hours before the game and didn't have a complete walkthrough.
At the other side, Raiders were done with their game plan against Perkins/Wolford. So to implement something against Baker in less than 48 hours was probably unlikely.
I highly doubt that they would have gone to press man cover 1 in the 4th quarter if they properly game planned for Baker.
This is where maybe having struggles in the second/third quarter probably helped the Rams as the DC probably was thinking.. hey, our originally installed game plan is working.. let's continue.
Just like how Raiders were prepared to game plan against Hoecht.. where they saw that they can exploit the edge as he is too aggressive going inside and can't recover to hold the edge... future teams will be better prepared against Mayfield and his tendencies.
