Love it, but it could be a McVay referendum forum because with the Glaring OL decision to ignore OL and draft a smalish WR. McVay had no real plan, because his offensive takes fewer shot down field and wr are expected to be more physical blockers in his scheme.
I for one was not a verbal opposition of the pick but I had better WRs that I would have drafted at that position. Better RBs if we are assuming our OL was already fixed. DE and DBs were also overlooked.
A wasted 2021 rookie season and then nothing in 2022 preseason. Was he being protected or hidden?
2022 started with opportunity and Skronek was our featured alternative over Robinson. McVay spent more time selling BS's versatility than crafting an effective offense and maxizing the talent. We ditched Woods!
No apologies from me I am less down on Skronek today (He just isn't that special yet) and more on McVay's poor management of the offense and personnel.
Here's to consequences as a teacher because anything short of a 12 win season in 2023 will be a sign of more serious changes that are needed.
Atwell has demonstrated he is a true WR with some physical advantages and limitations. He would do better on other teams. Like Hoecht, he deserves to be in a consistent rotation else he was a wasted pick for us. 2 years of his career on the verge of being wasted on his current contract and OBTW that is 2 years wasted trying to fill a huge holes in our OL and a TE as well as DE
I am just saying...
