During/After the Buff game I figured the Rams were simply ill prepared for the season. VERY unprepared, however, so I figured that it was going to take a few games, maybe more, to set things right. I did NOT see "this" after Buff.
Then came the Niner game, which to me meant that 'ill prepared' in the Buff game was not the explanation, the problems ran deeper. The Rams were in trouble... but still I didn't think they were out of it.
Dallas was the game in which I came to believe the playoffs were a long shot. Dallas was the game in which I knew that even as great as McVay is not even he could easily turn the team around. The injuries were now reaching cataclysmic proportions. It was not going to be a good season yet I still held onto the chance for a miracle turn around.
The 2nd Niner game - that did it. No playoffs... the OL was bad to begin with and with the injuries the OL was irreparable "this" year.
