It's felt a lot like 2019 to me in that the early season wins (vs. ATL, ARZ and CAR) never really felt like confidence builders but rather just relieved they held on.
The Tampa loss was a big missed opportunity. But then the door on the season finally closed with the loss to Arizona. Combined those losses put them at 3-8 vs. 5-6 where they'd still at least be in the discussion.
Though for what I'm not sure. Honestly, I think an immediate bottoming out like this could be better for them than somehow clawing to 8-9 or 9-8. Will make them be more introspective than they might be otherwise. Their 2nd and 3rd round picks become
way more valuable. They get extended looks at some younger players like Perkins, Williams, McCutcheon, Arcuri, Hoecht, etc. these final 7 games that could give them better depth next year. And it likely prevents any coaching turnover other than what McVay wants to do himself.
