I would say I am skeptical but have not closed the book on him. My hope is they shut Stafford down and that Perkins gets 6 more starts. If so let's see what he has done after 7 games.
I think playing on the road vs KC and taking your first snap from your own 4-yard line is a pretty tough place to start. Reminded me a bit of when Tony Banks was put into his first game vs. the 49ers in 1996 at their own 1-yard line (and sacked for a safety on his 2nd play).
He deserves a real audition for the QB2 job and one game at one of the top-3 teams in the league shouldn't decide it.
Also not saying he should be cemented as the QB2 if he shows some improvement and better production going forward. Just that he might (
might...) deserve to come back and compete for it.
