He's not the guy, many seem to be jumping on a bandwagon but it may be because we are in such sad shape in so many areas (backup QB included). Now I do see things he does well and I see he has an emotional factor to the team where they respond to him. Keep in mind many said that about Wolford as well when he replaced Jared for a very short span, as that span grew it became apparent he is not an answer.
His scramble/run ability is way above average and with this line it is needed, but if the line is fixed and can actually form and keep a protective pocket you need to look at his passing ability. I saw several wobbly floating balls and his in pocket passing lead to tip balls led to picks. His height scares me, on the run he's OK passing, in a pocket arms swallow up his passing lanes and sight.
He threw for 3 yds in the 1st half don't know for sure what he ended with but it was measly IMO. I know he hasn't played much but I am not getting excited with what I saw like some are....
I can see bringing him back next season, but they better get off the cheap sh&^ and get a real NFL size QB in the draft.....I just don't think he can be that reliable #2 or more importantly the successor to Matthew when he goes to pasture.
The game could have been a very nasty blowout if the D didn't force FG's after his INT's....couple that with the wasted 4th down fake punt and the KC fumble inside there 50 that came away with neg. yards.....He did the best he could with what he had and could do with his feet, but that doesn't form an opinion he can be the guy either....Just don't see it, very small trial period. It'll grow as the season moves on.....opinions can change, right now he ain't the guy.
