First, I’m gonna assume that Jackson is healthy and fully cleared to play in ‘23. That is NOT a sure thing.
So I’ve got Jackson at LOT and Hav at RT.
But here’s the thing.
I think all 3 interior OL positions need an upgrade unless Bruss is a stud at RG in his sophomore year and Rams sure can’t plan on that.
Allen. Just not good enough plus he’s always banged up.
Edwards. Definitely not good enough plus he’s a UFA.
Honestly, I think they will have to invest a high pick (2nd or 3rd) in OL and still sign a solid FA for 2 of those 3 positions.
Even then they will have to ‘make do’ with the likes of Shelton, Anchrum, or Brewer as a possible 3rd interior starter.
Now, if Jackson’s blood clots are an ongoing condition his playing days may be over. In THAT case then Rams OL situation becomes even more desperate. Rams have allowed their OL to degenerate for too long and now the piper must be paid.
I hope that Snead/McVay can pull this off in one offseason but I must confess that I’ve lost a lot of confidence in them lately and am now worrying whether Carberry is good enough to turn this around.
I’m haunted by their collective decisions to start Evans every freaking week even when healthy options were available, for instance.
