He is reputed to have said he's open to it.
Reching clear back... Jon Arnett was a single wing tailback for USC. The Rams barely utilized his ability to throw the option pass, but he did so impressively in the Por Bowls. He was also a good receiver out of the backfield, also under-utilized as a Ram. Their most consistent offensive strategy in the days Arnett played was the three-downs-and-a-punt scheme, with O line suited to the task. SArnett had Barry Sanders-like moves, the most incredible balance I've ever seen in a football player, and his best plays are not on tape.
Not so far back, Big Ben had TWO convcerted QB's as WR's during his early days with Pittsburgh. They used the option pass out of different play designs ften enough to keep D's honest.
Perkins appears to have more game speed than his 4.79 40 time indicates; nonetheless I don't look for the spectacular breakaway runs he showed in college.
Back to Deadpool: What I see is look-and-run, but that won't make much difference behind a collapsing O line. I wish him well.
Maybe, tight end?
