He needs to chill for a few weeks IMO ... like 3-4. Let Perkins take the practice reps and get him prepared to play for a stretch to see if he's our backup going forward.
If you ice him for the season you can't evaluate all the talent properly.
There's also the "he's too important to risk, even though he's healthy enough to play, but you're not" message that sends. Can't tell the boys to play for pride and sit the QB when he's healthy.
IF they can get a somewhat healthy OL play for at least two games in a row (Nsekhi LT, Edwards LG Allen C Shelton RG Havs RT) then yes, but that seems like a pipe dream at this point
Hard to evaluate any of the talent on offense with our current issues on the OL unfortunately
Rams could IR him for 4 weeks and reevaluate to be safe....No sense in ruining our investment and most important player to win a couple meaningless games...I think most players would understand it....it would also allow us to get a good long look at what Perkins can do for us moving forward.
