His chemistry with the WRs matters.
He needs to chill for a few weeks IMO ... like 3-4. Let Perkins take the practice reps and get him prepared to play for a stretch to see if he's our backup going forward.
If you ice him for the season you can't evaluate all the talent properly.
There's also the "he's too important to risk, even though he's healthy enough to play, but you're not" message that sends. Can't tell the boys to play for pride and sit the QB when he's healthy.
