Thinking that if you hit on the Tutu pick would fix the Rams problems is much to simplistic. Also everyone who argues that assumes we would have chosen Humphreys which again is a large stretch.
We lost 2 starters from last year
We had a decent LT replacement but he is out for the year
We had a decent RG replacement but he has been down
We have a Center who has been out
Our RG moved to Center and has been out
Our Left Guard has been out
We have Bobby Evans starting
We lost our top draft choice who was a G/T capable of starting
Even if everyone were healthy it would be hard to say that we would have any studs on the offensive line. Rams gave contracts to 2 injury prone starters in Allen & Noteboom and counted on those guys. Sheldon seemed like he was ready and played okay. Edwards is mediocre and in a contract year. He will be gone. Hav's at least is signed for next year.
I always thought next year would be a big investment year for the offensive line and now that seems more certain than every. You know you are in deep dodo when you have Bobby Evans as a backup but things are really bad when he ends up a starter.
Draft choices are a crap shoot but it seems like McVay might need to learn to appreciate the value of a strong offensive Line. With our cap situation we are kind of screwed when it comes to adding a stud through FA so we will have to find the answer in the draft our through player development of our or some other teams backup. For this year it seems as if we are toast.
