No question. It's not that complex. When the other team is in your backfield on a consistent basis, it wouldn't matter if we had Barry Sanders. Not to mention the chunk routes McVay loves take an extra second, which said same pathetic Oline lacks the capacity to do. Unless/until we develop an Oline that can at least get 3 yards whenever it needs to (regardless of opponent), we are DOA.
Based on Sneads draft record, the only Olineman that he's drafted that can move his guy was Saffold. Everyone else is a JAG at best. So it's questionable at best whether the Rams scouting/Snead has the capacity to draft our way out of this problem.
We do have success in acquiring Oline from other teams (see Whitworth, Corbett), but our lack of draft capital makes that a long shot at best.
The only option for a quick turnaround would be to deal assets for players/pics.
An asset would have to be someone with unquestioned value to any team. Which narrows the list down;
Stafford
Kupp
Robinson
AD
Ramsey
At this point, Robinson & Ramsey are the only ones we could, IMO, parlay into real Oline players/picks. If that was the strategy, then the salary cap becomes an obstacle as well.
