Here is the thing 53. The Rams are losing to this team for the SAME reasons. We keep doing the same things (on offense and defense) that just aren't working. In other words, coming into the games without a better\different game plan and a lack of in game adjustments.

Two questions for you 53...

Do you agree we play right into the whiners strengths by giving up such a large cushion? Aren't we making it easier on them instead of making it harder to move the ball?

So, without blaming the offense, what would you do differently on D against the whiners that might slow down the missed tackles, quick completions?

There are in-game adjustments. They play defense differently vs 49ers than any other team, for one. They play 7-man fronts and even some 8-man fronts.
They go from a 3-4 to even a 4-3 against the 49ers. It's just that the announcers never mention it.

Missed tackles are the fault of the players. You cannot make some scheme adjustment to cause players to stop missing tackles. And that was problem in both games this year and the game in SF last year.

The problem with Rams defense this year is lack of pass rush. Rams had a couple series where they got some pressure, but then, when it mattered . . it was gone...in 2nd half. Rams don't have the horses, other than Donald.

Did you even notice who the front 4 was in nickel? Did you like that "adjustment'?

There are more things going on than you are noticing. It's really the cushions you are upset about. It wasn't the cushion that was the problem on the long
pass that Kendrick blew---he knew who his guy was, he was there, but then for some reason dropped the coverage...it wasn't the cushion.

I guess the bottom line is--it's not the cushions that cause the problem...people just THINK it is because it's become this boogeyman. Something to vent their frustration on and by proxy, Morris.

Now, to be fair, I have not seen the All-22 to see the coverages for yesterday, but I noted all the fronts and they were varied, there WERE adjustments.

Now, when are you going to blame the players?

Gaines has regressed. Copeland is a JAG. Floyd has been nothing, but he had a couple good plays yesterday, but it was not consistent. What did Lewis do? Hollins? Robinson? Wagner did some good things, but he, too, missed a tackle. Jones lost his composure. Hill and Scott bit on the halfback pass...

These are not scheme problems, not cushion problems. These are execution problems.

If Rams could tackle and rush the passer, this scheme would be just fine, cushions and all. As it is---it's pretty good.
