The outcome of Monday's game between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals could impact more than just those teams.

Brad Stainbrook of the Orange and Brown Report explained Friday afternoon that the Browns "continue to field offers on running back Kareem Hunt and may feel more inclined to get a deal done if they lose Monday" against the Bengals. A "Monday Night Football" defeat would drop the Browns to 2-6 on the season before Tuesday's trade deadline and Cleveland's bye week.

Specifically, Stainbrook added that the Los Angeles Rams and Browns have had discussions "in recent days" regarding Hunt's services. "Those talks have not escalated to a serious level as Cleveland has yet to receive an offer to their liking, per a league source," Stainbrook continued.

Stainbrook repeated a previous story and said that one NFL executive believes the Browns would move Hunt for a fourth-round pick before Tuesday's deadline. However, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported on Wednesday that Cleveland wanted "a Christian McCaffrey-style haul" for Hunt at that time.

The San Francisco 49ers sent the Carolina Panthers second, third, and fourth-round draft picks in 2023 and a fifth-round choice in 2024 for McCaffrey ahead of Week 7. While McCaffrey is signed through the 2025 campaign, Hunt is set to become a free agent following this season.


Heading into the final weekend of October, Hunt has 263 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 66 carries to go along with 15 receptions for 87 yards and an additional score this season. He's cemented behind three-time Pro Bowl selection Nick Chubb on Cleveland's depth chart.
