Are there any difference-makers to be had in terms of O/D-linemen?
My Premises:
1. Assuming Allen and Shelton return to the line-up
and there are NO FURTHER INJURIES, the O-line remains a challenged unit.
2. Though the defense has played very well, it too, remains challenged (though not nearly as bad as the offense).
3. As Jourdan Rodrigue has mentioned in a recent podcast, Aaron Donald's presence on the team remains the linchpin in terms of how the Rams roster is constructed. As such, as long as he remains a force to be reckoned with, the team has to consider itself a Super Bowl contender and act as such.
So, going back to my question(s):
Do you believe that there is any quality O-lineman available for trade that could solidify that unit along the lines of what we saw last season?
If the answer is no...
Is there any defender (assuming it would be an Edge) available in trade that could move the defense from good/very good to elite? The thought being that the team would try to win on the back of its defense (e.g. winning games 17 - 10)?
I ask these questions because, if the team believes that it's in a Super Bowl window, I'm not so sure we should be talking about acquiring players on the margins. We probably should be pushing chips to the front of the table.
