and that even though I'm not fond of the man himself. don't like him, actually... BUT....
His presence in the HOF represents something I think is being lost today... that it isn't just 'stats'... certainly not just SB Victories, or MVP's. All those things important, very important, but IMHO the 'human' element is just as relevant.
I think there is an argument to be made, a good argument, that Joe made the NFL what it is today. Hard to explain to those who weren't around when the Jets upset the Colts but that game was earth shaking. Personally no, many players I feel more important than Joe BUT... there is no denying the Jets/Namath impact on the public.
