I think pre-2004 deserves extra credit/higher grading because defensive rules were still relatively tougher. Warner's 103.4 QB rating from 1999-2001 is probably worth
at least 10 more points today.
I will say I think Stafford's 2021 postseason is as good as Warner's 1999. Plus you also have to consider Warner and the 1999 Rams played the easiest schedule in the league. Stafford and the 2021 Rams' schedule was middle of the pack.
I'd call it incomplete overall though because let's see what Stafford does in 2022 and 2023 before making that comparison.
It's similar to how I still think Marino's 1984 season (108.9 QB rating- which is now only 32nd best ever in a single season) is the best single-season passing performance ever because, well, he did it in 1984. Steve Young's 1994 and Montana's 1989 are up there too for the same reasons.
