Don't sleep on Williams. Deep down, I think McVay believes he is the guy. When D Farr compares him to Matt Forte and Roger Craig.... well, that caught my interest. Let's see how this plays out...they were right and most of us were wrong about the OLine last year. Maybe the RB and OLB rooms are better than we know just yet.
Because right now he is proving himself to be as injury prone as the two running backs above him on the depth chart, Akers and Henderson. One injury is just football but those two have seemingly had repeated injuries and now Williams gets injured before training camp even starts the Rams need a powerback/short yardage back that can carry the load (meaning doesn't have major injury history). Now sure I would prefer a prime Faulk/Gurley/SJax/ED but I would be willing to accept what Sony gave us two years ago as a compliment to what the beforementioned RB1 and RB2 bring to the table when available. Now my heart isn't set on Sony, maybe Drake from Arizona or another cut back or heck trade one of our extra receivers for someone's depth rb, but what the Rams need is a durable short yardage back. Right now Williams looks a lot like what we already have on the roster, running backs that can flash but can't stay healthy.
