Because McVay for the most part doesn't just get out coached by him - instead he takes far superior talent and gets his ass handed to him. That does NOT compute. In fact... the only thing I consider slightly logical about that situation is that he must completely panic.. WHICH does not at all seem in his character, except against Shanny... and perhaps Belichick in the SB.
