Bad: The OL in general. Even in preseason an OL with Jackson and Evans playing should look better IMO.
Yeah, I watched the whole thing last night (can't believe I stayed up till 1AM to watch a pre-season game) and I don't remember seeing so many offensive linemen on their backs or faces so often. I get that we were playing ALL backups but the talk on this board has been about how much depth we have on the OL and how we are set if we let Havenstein and Edwards walk next year.
I know it's early and I know that backups playing next to backups means that mistakes are easily multiplied because there's no starter next to anyone to save the day. But honestly, I thought the line play was really bad. Those that have said Bruss looked solid must have seen things I didn't. I saW Bruss on his back on his face, blocking no one and looking lost on several ocassions. And Bruss wasn't even the worst of the bunch.
I do think any 1 or maybe 2 of these same guys surrounded by veteran starters may look much, much better. But I saw no standouts on the OL yesterday.
No wonder why McVay doesn't want to through the QB2 out there. Wolford doesn't move like Perkins does and I think basically Perkins is being thrown to the lions (LOL).
Here's to hoping it looks a little better on the OL each week.
Bruss to me well looked like he was playing for the first time in the NFL. How he should look. It’s why Sheldon starting is a good thing. Bruss will take some time.
Again, and it’s appears you agree, the OL with the two I mentioned as well as Anchrum should look better IMO considering Evans has started more than once in the regular season and Jackson did too in a big game last year. Both seemed a bit uninterested last night.
