the choice between malcom brown and putting funk on the practice squad vs funk on the 53 roster as the 4th rb seems obvious to me.
idk what vet minimum pays these days but i doubt it's much different than the 825k salary we owe funk that would be side stepped.
and for whatever that difference is and the 27k of dead cap for funk's signing bonus you get all the benefits all the posters above have mentioned. i would add another benefit that he's only 1 year removed from playing in mcvay's scheme and has much more experience playing in it than funk.
i'm not down on funk btw, just high on brown.
i'm assuming brown's healthy and just got squeezed out by youth/draft picks so, yes, i'd love to have him back as our 3rd or at worst 4th rb with funk waiting in the wings on the practice squad.
